We recently worked with Vincent Wong from Darwin Interior for our house renovation, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! What we had envisioned has truly come to life, and the end product exceeded our expectations. As this was our first time renovating a place from scratch, Vincent was incredibly patient and transparent throughout the entire process. He took the time to guide us, explain every step clearly, and offer valuable tips and advice that made a huge difference. We’re super happy with how everything turned out and would highly recommend Vincent to anyone — especially those new to the renovation journey. His professionalism, honesty, and attention to detail made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.

Deceit, Scam, Lies

Reviewed by Fabian Foo・Submitted 21 Oct 2025・Renovation in progress・Designer Andy Yow

We signed with ANSANA Interior Design, already paid 90% expecting 90% of the delivery but as you can see in the photos, its barely livable. Having taken 90% of our monies, we were left in our house in such a state with $100k of work unfinished and NOT communication and NOT returning our monies. We are now taking legal action against ANSANA. We even agreed and planned our move-in around the agreed schedule. As the date approached, the house still wasn’t ready. We were also asked to release more money to pay subcontractors so work can be completed, which made us anxious because so much felt unfinished. We tried to be patient. We chased updates, but many times we ended up contacting and coordinating subcontractors ourselves. The timeline moved, then moved again. Costs we thought were “all-in” later appeared as variation orders—like installation for doors/frames—and even our lump-sum demolition didn’t include removing the old tile skirting, which became another VO. Each surprise meant more time, more stress, and more temporary living costs. This experience has been exhausting and disheartening. We have sleepless nights dealing with ANSANA and now we do not even have a place to stay in because this very bad experience. We’re sharing it so others can plan better than we did: clarify exactly what “all-in” means (in writing), confirm what’s included in demolition (including skirting), and agree on how progress and payments will be managed.

Review of El Arte Design

First class service working with Rebecca

Reviewed by Xie Wenhan・Submitted 7 Oct 2025・Renovation in progress・Designer Rebecca

I must preface this to say that we didn’t sign with El Arte but we really wanted to leave a review for the excellent ID we met and worked with - Rebecca. We met Rebecca over the course of about 5 wks, and had numerous meetings with her. From the get go, she was considerate of the fact that we were still overseas, and tried her best to fit our time. She also came fully prepared, with ideas, suggestions, and even drew up 2-3 options for us - something that very few other IDs did (in the end we met close to 15). Rebecca was heard our needs/lifestyle, and Came up with ideas/suggestions that showed she truly thought from our perspective. She also came up with very cool ideas that worked with our less than ideal home layout. Being architecture trained, Rebecca also gave good, realistic advice, and was never pushy which we really valued. Her advice on things like whether a certain number of drawers were feasible made complete sense when she explained them patiently to us - that was very helpful since we were planning for our new home for the first time and had some ideas that really probably wouldn’t have worked. She also went the extra mile to check with her contractors/suppliers when we saw things we’d have wanted but they didn’t supply (like a type of swivel shower partition). She also actively negotiated for a better price for us, within reasonable limits. Perhaps what we enjoyed most about working with Rebecca was her clear explanations and her good vibes - it was never just “yes can do” or “no cannot do” - but she took time to help us understand aspects of design and explore collaboratively what could and couldn’t be done. (Her scribbled drawings are also very easy to understand/act as a good visual aid when she’s explaining). While we went with another company due to their company’s in house carpentry etc(we were mostly doing carpentry for this Reno), we will not hesitate to work with Rebecca in the future should we need any work or Reno to be done!

He is flexible and patient in arranging meet-up with me due to my hectic schedule. Trustable! And most importantly, he can understand what my needs and wants in building my dream house. He offered extra help to source for compatible deco and accessories. Hopefully once the renovation started he can also put in equal effort to the entire renovation project.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dependable designer who balances creativity with practicality

Reviewed by Michelle C・Submitted 31 Oct 2025・ Project completed Oct 2025・Designer Caren Tan

I engaged Caren because I wanted someone who not only had good design sense but also knew her materials and could work efficiently within a set budget. From our first meeting, I could tell she really knew her stuff — when I showed her some photos of holographic tiles I’d been obsessed with, she immediately knew where to source them and got just as excited as I was! Throughout the renovation, Caren was incredibly resourceful and efficient. She managed to keep everything within budget and on schedule, while still achieving the look and feel I wanted. She listened carefully to my requests but also wasn’t afraid to suggest practical alternatives when something could be done better — a quality I really appreciated. Communication with her was always smooth. She was responsive, provided regular updates on the progress, and was quick to address any concerns. During the rectification and defect-check period, she was impressively thorough and critical — she spotted small details one would have easily missed. The workmanship from her recommended contractors was solid, and she made sure issues were promptly fixed without me having to chase. Her friendly and bubbly personality made the whole renovation process a lot less stressful and even enjoyable. What stood out most about Caren is her professionalism combined with her genuine passion for design — she treats every project like her own home. Overall, I had a great experience working with Caren and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, creative, and down-to-earth designer who delivers on both aesthetics and practicality.

Professional, Patient with good Design Sense

Reviewed by Mr Goh・Submitted 30 Oct 2025・ Project completed Oct 2025・Designer Zaron

After meeting more than 20 IDs from different companies, I was impressed by Zaron Ng's profession eye on details and aesthetic taste that is able to offer me a design for my 3 room HDB resale that meet my Japanese theme and is different from typical cookie-cutter design that are offered by most other IDs. He was patient and professional when we spend long period discussing on the different iterations of layouts. Such discussions with him on the carpentry, layout and planning lasted quite late, there are more than 1 nights where we still discussion around 1-2am in the morning. He was able to capture and remember my feedback and incorporate them into the design without me raising them. Without his assistance in the design, planning and attention to details, the renovation process will not be a breeze. Samuel Teng, project manager, is very knowledgeable and provide solutions. He was able to manage and co-ordinate well with different vendors to bring the planned design out in real life. Despite my picky nature on various defects and issues, he remains calm and always as a team with ID, Zaron, offer solutions to address them. Kudos to the carpentry and electrician team in producing quality work.

Phenomenal reno experience with Xyden and Kai Yi

Reviewed by Tabitha Wong・Submitted 30 Oct 2025・ Project completed Oct 2025・Designer Xyden & Kai Yi

Having Xyden and Kai Yi as my IDs is truly a blessing. They were the only ID (out of the 14 we met) that instantly got what we envisioned and one that we could vibe with. The design and planning process was smooth. I was thoroughly impressed by how quick Xyden could make changes to the mock ups on the spot for us to better visualise and make decisions. I also appreciate how the team made recommendations for certain design choices that were not only cost effective but also practical and easy to maintain. For example, after looking through one tile shop and not being able to find a suitable tile for our kitchen floor, they helped to look through other tile shops to find one that was not only within our budget but just as good. Besides making great recommendations, Xyden and Kai Yi were also open to hearing our crazy ideas, of which one made it into the renovation. We liked the idea of a hidden door but didn't know if it was possible, especially because I didn't like fluted panels which are what most hidden doors use. After discussing and playing around with various concepts, we made our master bathroom door the hidden door which I feel is my favourite part of the house now. When there were issues, even those caused by our own stupidity, Xyden and Kai Yi were prompt to help us resolve the problem. I felt assured and didn't feel the need to be onsite to inspect. Kai Yi updated us regularly on the progress and communication was smooth. Enough said. If you are looking for an ID, you can find Xyden and Kai Yi from Urban Home Design.

We got to know Syaqeeq through someone we knew. Initially, we had met a few other IDs, but in the end, we decided to go with him — and we’re glad we did! He was pleasant, friendly, and approachable from the start. He first asked if we had any theme or concept in mind for our home — we wanted a Bohemian plus Scandinavian theme — and from there, he shared creative ideas that complemented our vision perfectly. During the consultation, he was attentive and quick to understand our needs and not our wants. He always asked for our opinions on every little detail, ensuring everything aligned with what we wanted. We also appreciated how prompt and accurate he was in updating us about the work plan. Overall, working with Syaqeeq was a smooth and positive experience. We’re very satisfied with his professionalism and creativity!

After meeting a few IDs and found she is someone willing to listen and share her opinions sincerely. Together with my 2 family members and we decided to engage her for my 2 room BTO renovation. Indeed, making the right decision that I'm happy with the results! Firstly, renovation is never an easy task from my point of view as need to involve many parties with right timing and so much work co-ordination. Secondly, with my age catching up and I need someone is reliable from trustworthy company especially the amount to be spent is my hard earn money.
