Addis was the ID for my mum's house, and despite issues cropping up, he was always able to resolve it. There were issues with worker communication, as well as initial quality, and when we voiced out, he was always very quick to ask the respective workers down to resolve it to our satisfaction. Addis was also down at the worksite frequently to check on the work. Overall, the final workmanship was excellent, and my mum was very happy with the final product. Thank you!

Renovating a home involves many decisions and moving parts, from discussing ideas to choose finishes and seeing everything come together on site. We appreciate the work carried out by the Renologist team throughout our renovation and the effort involved in coordinating the various aspects of the project. It was a significant process for us as homeowners, and finally see the completed space. Thank you to everyone involved in helping us through the renovation journey. There was some miscommunication, but it can be improved. Keep it up.

We recently completed a full home renovation for our BTO with Kenneth Kwan, and overall we are extremely satisfied with the entire experience from start to finish. From our very first consultation, it was clear that Kenneth genuinely wanted to understand what we needed, not just what looked good on paper. He took the time to ask thoughtful questions about our lifestyle, daily habits, and how we actually use our space, and used that to shape design ideas that felt tailor-made for us. Many of the suggestions were things we hadn't even thought of ourselves, but once proposed, he made perfect sense for how we live. Site visits, meetings, and updates all happened on schedule, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind, especially since renovation horror stories about delays and poor communication are so common. We always knew what stage we were at and what to expect next, which made the whole process far less stressful than we anticipated. The design itself struck a great balance between aesthetics and practicality. Our favourite part has to be the kitchen as we went with an open concept layout, and the island turned out even better than we imagined. It's become the natural gathering point in our home, whether we're cooking, having quick meals, or just chatting while someone's prepping food. The dry pantry alongside it was such a smart addition too, giving us tons of extra storage while keeping the main kitchen area clean and clutter-free. Beyond the kitchen, storage was maximised throughout the flat (which matters a lot in a BTO!), traffic flow felt natural, and small daily inconveniences we didn't even flag were quietly solved. It's the kind of design that looks great in photos but works even better in everyday life. What really impressed us, though, was how Kenneth handled things when problems came up. At one point our carpentry work didn't turn out as planned, but instead of brushing it off or making excuses, he took ownership of the issue immediately and got it rectified quickly. It's easy for an ID to look good when everything goes smoothly, but seeing how responsibly and promptly he dealt with a mistake gave us even more confidence in him. Not every hiccup can be avoided in a renovation, but having someone who takes responsibility and fixes things fast makes all the difference. Pricing was also fair and transparent. We never felt like we were being upsold unnecessarily, and the quotes given matched what we were eventually billed, with no unpleasant surprises along the way. Given the quality of work and service, we felt we got great value for what we paid.

I engaged Fineline for my home renovation and have paid 60% of the contract value to date. The original work schedule provided by Fineline indicated completion by 6 August. The project remains substantially incomplete. In late July, my assigned ID, James Tan, informed me that he had left the company but would nevertheless complete my project. On 8 August, after receiving no further update, I contacted him and was then informed that he would no longer be completing the project and that he was unable to advise who would take over. I have received no communication from Fineline regarding who will take over my project or how the outstanding works will be completed. I am also unable to establish contact with Fineline through its published email addresses and contact numbers.

One of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. I paid 95% of the contract price, yet less than 50% of the agreed work was completed. The workmanship was poor, and although the contractor agreed to redo the defective work, they still failed to finish the job. What they left behind was completely unacceptable — exposed raw wood, protruding nails, splinter hazards and electrical wires left hanging. These are not minor cosmetic issues; they are serious safety concerns. And the worst part? I have been living with this situation for more than a month. My home has effectively been left in an unfinished and potentially dangerous condition, despite having already paid almost the entire contract amount. I gave the contractor an opportunity to rectify the problems. They failed to do so. I then sent formal legal correspondence, and they simply stopped communicating. 95% paid. Less than 50% completed. More than a month living with the mess. Safety hazards left behind. Legal letter ignored. Zero accountability. This is an astonishing level of poor workmanship, irresponsibility and lack of professionalism. Once most of the money was collected, there was apparently no urgency to complete the job or address the problems they created. An absolute nightmare from start to finish. Think very carefully before engaging this contractor. I would not recommend them to anyone. Contractor from hell — USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

We had a great experience with our home renovation. From the initial design discussions to the final completion, Marcus was professional, responsive, and attentive to our needs. We especially appreciated his patience in helping us refine the design and make decisions along the way. The workmanship and finishing were good, and the overall result turned out beautifully and close to what we envisioned. There were some adjustments along the way, as expected with any renovation, but Marcus was willing to communicate and resolve issues. It feels beautiful, comfortable, cohesive, and most importantly, it truly feels like the dream home I had envisioned. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jonathan Sim to anyone looking for an interior designer who not only understands design, but also takes responsibility for the project and genuinely cares about delivering a home his client can be proud of. We just finished our renovation and I have to say, it was a much better experience than we expected. A lot of that credit goes to CY, who looked after our project from start to end. The part that really got us was when we had to make major changes partway through because of fengshui arrangements. Anyone who has renovated before knows that kind of change halfway can mess up everything. CY didn't make us feel bad about it or try to rush us into a decision. He just sat down with us, worked out what could be done, and redid the parts that needed redoing properly. He also actually listened to what we wanted instead of pushing his own style. Small thing, but it made a big difference. The house turned out the way we pictured it. If you're renovating and want someone who stays around when things get complicated, look for CY. We're glad we did.

Self-admit difficult client with strong opinions with a budget of peanuts. Cherrie is patient to listen, accommodate and work with to the best of her abilities to client's ideas. Despite coming to Craftmakers with questionable client's design that often deviates from a handful of common accepted ID wisdom and working with a cut-throat budget, Cherrie still materialised the vision of the client. Hats off and thank you Craftmakers and Cherrie.

With so many reno nightmares seen on social media these days, my wife and I were assured that we are in the good hands of Jaylene. Her initiative and accountability were the reasons behind the assurance, not just via empty promises. The timeline she provided was pretty much on point and even if there were delays, we were updated promptly from her site visits. From the design process all the way to the handover, Jaylene has provided more value than we expected an ID to provide, and we thank her and Decor8 so much for making our renovation process, fuss-free and worry-free.
