Interior Designer Reviews

We got connected with Rayn and Sasa at an ID event and hit it off from the start! 1) Responsiveness and Communication - They are super responsive and patiently answer our many questions - renovation is a source of worry in so many unpredictable ways and they’re always ready to alleviate those concerns. 2) Value-Add of an ID (in our opinion) - Learns our vision but also shares suggestions based on practicality (with relation to our life stage) and budget which was top of mind for us. - Rayn, with her experience as an ID, gives tactful honest advise without sugarcoat — this helps bc if you want something trendy or something that might turn tacky in a few years - she'll say so. You have the final say but this gives us the opportunity to make informed decisions. - Sasa adds her own expertise from the perspective of a mother (as we're a young family) which helped a lot as well — while also going out of her way to manage the onsite works. 3) Very patient and journeyed with us the entire way - Across the renovation period - from initial design discussion, our many reviews and edits, tile selection, colour selection, changing our mind backward and forward - they have been nothing but gracious and kind. 4) Quality Assurance - They have strong relationship with the contractors and never compromises on quality. - eg. we brought in a separate deep cleaner for our carpentry and he noted low levels of formaldehyde - it’s clear the materials are simply of an assured quality and workmanship is there. Working with Rayn and Sasa has truly been a blessing - for a couple like us in a period of multiple transitions, we were grateful to have partners we could rely on, in decisions we should trust to have our interest at heart, and out of it, gained a friendship. We sincerely recommend them if you’re looking! (Adri & Amirah)

Our Second Home with Rough Sketch — and We Would Choose Her Again in a Heartbeat! ❤️ This is our second time engaging Rough Sketch, and honestly, we didn’t even hesitate or feel the need to compare with other IDs. The mutual trust we have built over the years speaks for itself. If we ever move into our third home, she will definitely be our first and only choice! What we appreciate most is how extremely responsive, responsible, thoughtful and meticulous she is. She is fast and efficient, yet never compromises on the quality of her work. She knows we have two young children and a tight timeline, and she genuinely did her best to accommodate our needs. She even accompanied us to view the unit before we made our purchase, which speaks volumes about her thoughtfulness and commitment. Throughout the renovation, she kept things moving promptly and efficiently. She shortlisted design options for us, presented them clearly, and gave us choices without overwhelming or stressing us out with too many decisions. She also helped us with sourcing and purchasing the necessary hardware, which was especially helpful as busy parents with young children. We could trust her to take care of the details while keeping us updated along the way. One thing we are particularly grateful for is how she worked hard to ensure we could move in on time. We agreed to move in as scheduled and attend to the minor rectifications thereafter, and she managed the timeline without unnecessary delays or compromising on quality. That kind of commitment and responsibility gave us so much peace of mind. Even our post-renovation cleaning crew commented that the VOC levels were considered low and mentioned the use of high-quality materials. While we understand that VOC levels can depend on various factors, it was reassuring to hear this feedback and feel that the materials used in our home were a thoughtful consideration. To us, a good interior designer is not just someone who creates a beautiful home, but someone you can trust, communicate with easily, and rely on when things get busy. Rough Sketch has been all that and more. She understands our needs, respects our timeline, takes ownership of her work, and genuinely cares about the people she is designing for. Highly, highly recommend Rough Sketch! If you are looking for an ID who is trustworthy, efficient, meticulous, responsive and responsible, we cannot recommend her enough. Thank you for helping us turn another house into a home for our family. We are truly grateful, and we would choose you all over again without a second thought! ❤️

We engaged Stephen for our 4 room HDB renovation and Stephen has made our renovation journey an extremely smooth one. From the initial planning, Stephen was creative in the designs while being patient and understanding of our needs. His attention to details, objectivity and patience are exactly what we needed when looking for an ID. Throughout the renovation, we are also impressed with Stephen providing us constant updates to keep us in track of what has been done onto our house. The hard work he has placed on our place has truly reflected in the results of how our house look now. I would definitely recommend Stephen to future houseowners looking for an ID.

My work scope only cover flooring and kitchen cabinets. Then addon the glass doors and bedroom wardrobe. Nevertheless both him and his boss are very patient with me and work within my budget. He went through the checks from start - after I collected my keys to the ends rectification works follow-ups till handover. He kept everyone updated via group chats and indicate timeline in them. Even at the handover day, he recheck the unit before meeting me for handover. I truly appreciated all his time and efforts spent. Renovation process isn’t perfect but it still met my expectations. I moved in today to my new bto unit and I’m happy that met both he and his boss Roderiick.

We worked with Yve and Derrick from Forefront Interior who were responsive and responsible in responding to our queries and it was a pleasure working with them to flesh out a vision and bring it to fruition. Forefront has a robust system in place and we felt that all processes and work with contractors ran smoothly and without issue. We were thankful for their insight and satisfied with the result and overall experience!

Highly recommend Cyrus from Jialux Interior for anyone looking for a reliable and professional interior designer! Throughout the renovation journey, Cyrus was attentive, responsive and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that everything was done properly. Really appreciated the practical suggestions, transparency and attention to detail. Most importantly, we felt that our concerns were heard and our home was treated with genuine care. Thank you for turning our vision into reality!

Had a very good renovation experience with Cindy from YID. From the initial consultation to completion, everything was smooth and well managed. She was patient, reassuring and steady throughout, which gave us confidence at every stage. She took the time to understand our broad ideas and was able to translate them into a design that took into account our preferences and needs. We also appreciated how responsive and accommodating she was. Communication was clear, and whenever there were minor hiccups along the way, she was proactive in addressing them and working through them with us. Overall, the process was quite stress-free and everything was delivered as promised. Most importantly, we’re really pleased with how the home turned out, and it feels like a space that suits us. Would definitely recommend Cindy if you’re looking for a reliable and thoughtful interior designer!

I don’t see 4 stars as a bad thing. It simply means there is always room for improvement because of the industry-wide bad reputation and practice culture in general. Moreover, most ID companies are faceless. We only meet the IDs the companies assigned them to. But let’s talk about what my ID, Xavier Ke, has done for my home. This is the main highlight. Thank you for being very considerate of my budget and willing to take on smaller margin to transform an old estate into a very liveable and comfortable home. If anyone said that the whole reno process is without any hiccups will be lying. It wasn’t always smooth because it happens and I don’t mind it because what matters is Xavier was happy to rectify and problem solve together. He understood the vision for the house and helped bring it to life. I can see and feel his passion and standard towards the project. And I’m so glad that we improved our understanding and communication as we progress and complete the reno. Really happy with the result you put together for us. No picture or video to show (too private for public viewing) but I’m really proud of what we have done together so here it is.

We hired Taufiq from Alchemist for our 4-room HDB makeover and couldn't be happier. From the first consultation, Taufiq took time to understand our lifestyle and suggested smart storage solutions that made a huge difference. He was proactive with updates, managed the contractors well, and was super patient with all our last-minute changes 😅 The quality of workmanship is excellent and the space feels exactly like "us". Thank you Taufiq and the Alchemist team for making the whole process stress-free! If you all want to engage an ID.. please look for Taufiq.. you won't regret it..

Ivonne has been very responsive and on the ball throughout our renovation. She’s quick to reply to messages, regularly checks on the progress of the works, and keeps us updated. Really appreciate that she also goes the extra mile when needed, such as helping us purchase stuff and coordinating the little details along the way. Overall, it’s been a smooth and reassuring experience working with her, highly recommended.

Our ID was Carine and we had a great experience with her. She’s very responsive and flexible. She’s able to provide design ideas while at the same time is open to suggestions and conscious of our budget. And her design style suits our aesthetics and practical needs. She also managed to complete the renovation within our tight timeline as promised so we could move in per schedule. Overall will recommend her for an easygoing fuss free renovation!

While we first decided to work with Alchemist Design for their value for money qoutation, working with our ID Muzz was a great experience. He brought sharp attention to detail and thoughtful design suggestions, while always respecting our preferences and decisions. He didn't just manage the reno project, he proactively helped us source for reliable vendors or suggest vendors that he trusts, for things like curtains and essential home accessories. Throughout the entire process, he kept us updated, worked closely and communicated with contractors from start to finish, and ensured everything ran smoothly. Even post-renovation, he remains contactable and reliable whenever we have issues or touch-ups. Our Muji inspired matrimonial home turned out even better than we had imagined. If you are looking for a trustworthy, dedicated, and meticulous interior designer for your home renovation, we highly recommend Muzz from Alchemist Design!
