About Apartment

What makes our work unique It’s a tough question. Interior design, like in any other industry we suppose, people go through phases when they start. For us designers we believe there is a phase of mimicking. Designers quickly create their own heroes, they follow them to talks, follow their work, read their articles and feel inspired by their style. This phase never really ends though your heroes will change over time. The Mimicking phase is important because it will give you a better perspective of the industry and will help you initially to improve your execution skills. However it’s important to know when to stop. Mimicking others won’t make your work any more unique or special and won’t really bring any attention to what matters. When we looked back at our previous work over the years we still can identify the parts of it where I was trying to be someone else by getting “overly inspired” and the parts that we came up with out of our own experience that helped us define what we do today. we personally only feel proud about the latter. With all these considerations in mind we believe we have identified two pointers to guide us along the way. Take them for what they are worth and I hope it can help you too.

Leong Georgia
Great service, efficient, initiative
verified-reviewVerified Review

Reviewed by Leong Georgia・Submitted 12 Nov 2021・Project completed Nov 2021・Designer Nicole

Nicole is very prompt in her planning, communication and execution. We chose her out of the other Qanvast recommendations cause she’s very particular about your lifestyle and hobbies and interests which she feels need to be incorporated into the design. After confirming to use her ID firm, she immediately helped us to register the Qanvast guarantee without us asking/reminding. She is efficient in providing the drawings and planning meet ups to discuss the renovation and choosing materials etc. She is also very honest in suggesting materials while giving us her recommendations all the time. Her contractors are very reliable. Carpentry is of really good quality, electrician team super initiative, sending us updates without us asking for it and the aircon team is super efficient and honest (they kept the plastics and kept the remote controls in our store). Though we had a clear idea of what we want, they provided ideas which we accepted and turned out to be really functional, like having open shelf space in kitchen for daily use items instead of all covered cabinets, toilet half walls (for this, the contractors made the half wall a little too high and when we mention it to Nicole, she immediately got it changed even though is very troublesome cause need to retire etc) to ensure convenient cleaning and day bed space storage ideas. To conclude, I just felt like the whole reno was very fuss free and we hardly go down to check because Nicole will be there to oversee and coordinate things while sending us videos on what’s done and the handover was also completed on time within 2 months and 6 days as agreed before hand. Overall, a very good experience with Apartment.
