Debbie Loh
Renovation nightmare

Reviewed by Debbie Loh・Submitted 29 Nov 2021・Project completed Sep 2021・Designer Jasmine Tay and Jayden Chiang

We first came in touch with fineline due to recommendation by a friend and feel that the overall portfolio reflected in instagram and facebook is what we are looking for. After comparing a few IDs, we decided to lock down with fineline as they have promotion with free TV and sound bar. I guess we made our decision too hastily. We should have be more careful and rejected fineline when jasmine did the quotation wrongly by measuring the wrong area of our flooring before we sign the quote. We thought that she is still new and give her a chance since they edited the quote right away. There are too many things to highlight during this nightmare renovation so i will just state the main ones i remember. i had trouble sleeping thru the whole reno journey 1. They cancelled one of our meeting 2 hrs before the meet up with reason that they have a company event that day. Should they have known that in advance and informed us earlier 2. Late for meetings ranging from 45 mins to 1 hr. 3. We need to remind her on our whatsapp messages a number of times before she reply. She can dont reply us for 1-2 weeks. 4. Jayden is more experience so he will be in helping jasmine during the initial quote and signing contract phase. Afterwards, everything will be handled by the jasmine and he will not reply until we get very frustrated with them. 5. The rendering team is done by another team. So u will only get your first draft after around 2 months. Second draft after around 1 month. They will tell u there is a limitation of 4 rendering max after we asked them to change again. The first draft is nothing like what we have sent her of what we like and research before. i told her i dont like my house to be too white and she sent a draft that is almost all white. 6. Many errors were found when we had Amendments of the quotes. I am trying very hard not to write a negative review hoping that they will change till the very end. However, she again did not reply me on the rectifications after 1 week. I hope they could train their ID on customer service before they start their journey and be more responsible of their work.
