New home owner here that even needed help knowing what sort of floor tiles suit my lifestyle, what more do I know in designing my home? I had a chance to speak with Marshall, a very seasoned designer that rarely frequents Qanvast because he's usually already booked full... 10 minutes in, I could immediately see why. He was very accommodating and patient, and even with my odd jargon I was using to describe a room, he could catch on to exactly what I was saying. What I liked best was that it seemed more like I engaged a friend who wanted the best for me than just an interior designer. When I shared with him my lifestyle and the home I wanted, he could accurately detect the pain points I would face and whether different ideas were practical or logical for me. There were so many other innovative solutions presented to me that I never knew of (since I only knew how to look at Pinterest and Google...) He helped me build an aesthetically unique home that could stand the test of time. Unlike some of my friend's (or parent's) designers, he was genuinely participative in all matters of my home. He was there constantly to ensure the workers were doing everything impeccably, right from structural integrity to placements of furniture. There were so many times I saw him climbing up and down and willingly getting down and dirty with the workers to get things done. I feel he has led by example and showcased immaculate project management skills. There's just this immense sense of peace having my home built by Marshall because I just know everything will come out perfect. I don't know if designing a home is usually so relaxing for home owners but this has been more chill than my wedding. Maybe if he also decides to do wedding planning......? Hahaha... I don't know how to express how worried and scared I was in getting my new home ready during COVID-19 period but looking back, it's really about having an experienced designer that is willing to hold your hand and walk down the path with you. It seems surreal. Not only have I gotten my dream home without hassle, I have also learnt alot about what makes a Home work for me, and learn what suits my growing family best in the long run. It's really an art form and foresight that is not easy found... Thank you so much, Marshall! I will be recommending more homeowners to you every chance I get 💪🏻
