Japandi style

Reviewed by Beline Ang・Submitted 22 Jul 2023・ Project completed Jul 2023・Designer Vincent Neo and Wei Ming

My husband and I were looking for a suitable interior designer from Qanvast and we chose Versaform as they provide us with a great mood-board during the presentation. The renovation took around 9 weeks from a bare 3-gen BTO to a clean and classic Japandi style interior. The interior designers, Vincent Neo and Wei Ming, gave us a lot of ideas & suggestions on the house details, color matching, etc. Our favourite will be the volakas marble island table top with Matt dark green cabinets & it turn out to match the whole house theme. The end product was way above our expectations and our family were very satisfied with it.

We Struck Gold With Katherine

Reviewed by Sandy・Submitted 7 May 2023・ Project completed Apr 2023・Designer Katherine

My husband and I bought our 4 room HDB resale flat despite its odd-shaped floor plan due to its convenient location. We were confident that an experienced ID would be able to creatively address the dead corners in our house and that ID was Katherine for us. Having shopped around for several renovation quotes before deciding, we were most impressed with Katherine's attention to detail, response time and quick thinking. Her proposed plans made the odd corners disappear to the point where guests have exclaimed "Got meh?", and we love that "cozy" and "homely" are how our mid-century modern home is described. As first-time homeowners, we were green and unsure of what to expect. But Katherine put us at ease and she even went the extra mile to propose the placement of loose furniture in her quotation where other firms we spoke to only covered fixed carpentry. This helped us to visualize and better plan the functionality of our space before making big purchases. We also appreciate that Katherine was upfront in sharing her professional advice along the way and we saved on unnecessary enhancements as a direct result. One example that stood out for us was when we wanted to do an arch walkway. While other IDs would have probably jumped at the opportunity to earn more, Katherine took the initiative to share with us the pros and cons before we eventually decided against it; this for us showed that she has her clients' best interests at heart. Project timeline was impeccably planned and a day-by-day breakdown is provided so that you'll never have to ask what is being done and when. While we've heard of friends who had to chase their IDs for renovation updates, there was never a need to do that with Katherine because she would regularly share onsite photos with us. In totality, our renovation took 1.5 months and there was no delay. It has been about three weeks since project handover and Katherine still remains very contactable and ready to share advice whenever. Having read and heard many renovation horror stories, we are incredibly thankful that we got Katherine and have already recommended her to our friends looking to renovate. It feels great coming home to a space that my husband and I love very much.

A hassle-free renovation journey with awesome Versaform team- Vincent & Wei Ming

Reviewed by Teo Puay Leng・Submitted 7 May 2023・ Project completed Apr 2023・Designer Vincent

Vincent is a trustworthy interior designer who has an eye for beauty. With vast experience, he is able to balance aesthetics and practicality. Coupled with Wei Ming, the friendly and helpful coordinator, this awesome Versaform team offered a hassle-free renovation journey for me, turning my empty BTO flat into a fully functional home that emits a feeling of comfort, warmth and relaxation. *Reliable and Professional* Vincent portrayed his professionalism and expertise right at the start of this project. On the day of our second meeting, my new estate was in the Chinese news for not having pre-drilled aircon openings for aircon ducts or having pre-drilled aircon openings at unsuitable locations. After reading the news and reviewing my house layout, Vincent told me upfront that there should not be any issue and no additional cost was needed to conceal the aircon trucking. At the end of the day, he still sent me a message to assure me not to worry. After further detailed contemplation, he had come up with a plan to hide the aircon trucking. At this point, I knew I had got an ID on my back. Through-out the 6 weeks of renovation works, I only visited my house once, when I had to be there to choose blinds and curtain. Wei Ming sent me photos and videos updating me of the renovation progress almost every day. He even went the extra mile to coordinate his schedule with the HDB Building Service Centre’s staff for them to fix the windows. I fully appreciate this. It would not be possible for me to check-in on the renovation works amidst busy work schedule. I understood weeks after renovation started that my main door could not open on the second day of renovation. The Versaform tag team was quick to arrange their contractor to resolve the issue without bothering me. The whole renovation process was absolutely hassle-free for me. *An Eye for Colours & Details* Without doubt, Vincent has an eye for colours. After briefing him on the colour scheme I preferred - white, light grey, brown, black with a touch of olive or green, he immediately suggested not to go for olive and chose green to accentuate the natural and earthy tone. As it turned out, the brown and green used for kitchen and bathroom cabinets, blended perfectly with the bathroom feature wall of matt green and white tiles, plus the green bedroom feature wall and black mild steel bedroom sliding door. Vincent pays attention to fine details and has no qualms to change the item if it does not meet his expectations. He proposed a day curtain for the bedroom’s mild steel sliding door with clear glass to soften the surrounding atmosphere. He made it a point to be at the house during installation day to ensure the curtain binding is “hidden from guests’ eyes” – not to face the living room by either hiding behind the mild steel frame, or facing the bedroom. As the curtain hem was not sewn as what he intended (which was not the usual sewing practice), he had his curtain maker redo a new piece. *Value for Money* Renovation cost is one of the key concerns of any new home owners. All works to be done were itemised in my house renovation quotation and contract. There were no hidden costs and no changes to the amount except when I changed my mind to remove / add some cabinets. The Versaform tag team provided excellent services – everything was done on time, as planned, and rectified if any issue occurred. As with any renovation projects, there are bound to be minor issues that need to be resolved. We noted a small scratch on the glass panel of the mild steel door on the day of handover. Wei Ming was quick to arrange the mild steel door manufacturer for an on-site assessment – to polish or to replace. Full payment was done on handover day. The team continued to follow-up and was ready to re-install a new door within a week. I would recommend Vincent and Wei Ming to anyone who appreciates a stress-free renovation journey that will turn a house into a place called home.
