Happy with our renovation!

Reviewed by Pei Xin Tay・Submitted 16 May 2021・Project completed Jan 2021・Designer Mariana

We went with Charlotte's Carpentry as we got along well with our assigned ID Mariana and liked the ideas she brought to the table. She really takes the effort to try to understand your needs and to advise you based on her wealth of experience/knowledge without being too pushy (loved the space-saving ideas in particular!). We really appreciated that she could marry aesthetics with practicality based on our priorities. It's normal for there to be minor miscommunications or for us to raise some worksmanship issues (e.g. touching up certain areas) and she handled them very professionally without resistance/excuses. Charlotte's Carpentry was among the pricier quotes we received, but we're satisfied with the quality of materials and worksmanship. We reached out to about 8 IDs before deciding and think it was a good compromise between (i) cheap and mass market, but poorer quality materials and heavier project load on IDs to increase profit, and (ii) more boutique ID firms which could not offer as competitive quotes because of their smaller resource base. The second half of our renovation was impacted by COVID-19 restrictions but they did their best to pull through despite the worker shortage to accommodate our timelines. Thanks so much Mariana! :)

Great experience with Javerson from Charlotte's carpentry (highly recommended)

Reviewed by Tricia Chng・Submitted 16 May 2021・Project completed May 2021・Designer Javerson

We are very grateful to have Javerson to help us with our renovation. We started looking for IDs about 1.5 year ago, we met up with a few IDs and subsequently decided to go with Javerson because he appeared as a really sincere and earnest guy from the first meeting and the design presented / quote given was reasonable. We have had no regrets since. Due to COVID-19, our renovation was delayed by almost 9 months but Javerson helped to make sure we finalised our design and selected our tiles early so that we could start our renovation once we got our keys. From the first visit to completion of project, Javerson has been very accomodating and helpful. He also provided many good suggestions and solutions to problems that we had during the discussion and renovation process. He made sure to understand our needs and expectations before coming up with designs that we are very happy with. One of the best thing about Javerson is that he is always there for you every step of the way, he always makes the effort to get back to us no matter when and what we have to ask him about. I had alot of queries about the designs / options and even changed my mind about the design a few times. However Javerson was extremely patient with us during the entire process: answering questions about the renovation, explaining if the ideas we had are feasible, helping us to decide on furniture that would suit the house and rectifing problems that arose during the renovation process. He has a good eye for details and is always very thoughtful and conscientious with his work. His efficiency and dedication to his work is extremely commendable and we are grateful to have engaged him. We have since engaged a few of our friends to Javerson and Charlotte's carpentry because of the pleasant experience we had.

Overall Satisfied - Hard Working ID
verified-reviewVerified Review

Reviewed by BH Ding・Submitted 11 May 2021・Project completed Mar 2021・Designer Lee Yang Horng

We approached 5 ID firms with good rating (4-5 star) in Qanvast and found Yang Horng (YH) from Charlotte’s carpentry has outstanding ideas in design according to our requirements, he is very flexible and easy to communicate. Being first time home owner going through the renovation journey, YH was informative and proactive to explaining various matters to us, prepared 2D and 3D drawings, project detail schedule (preparation stage + renovation stage), accompanied us to shop for materials and even help to suggest furnitures online. The renovation went smoothly and completed on time. I’m a picky person and hope everything to be perfect, suggest the carpentry workmanship need to be improved. We appreciate the team to installed all (>10 sets) the furnitures and arrange them nicely for us. Overall we are satisfied with the job they did. But the touch up after move in is very slow and we have to keep on chasing for weeks.
