With a whopping 1,467 units, Canberra Vista is slated to be one of the biggest BTO estates to be completed in the second half of 2024.

If you’re a prospective homeowner of Canberra Vista (or are curious about this sprawling estate), here’s a breakdown of all the features you can enjoy after moving here:

  • Close proximity to Canberra MRT station
  • Walking distance to the upcoming Canberra Plaza and Sembawang Shopping Centre
  • Situated adjacent to the Yishun Park Connector; overlooks Sungei Simpang Kiri
  • Lush green spaces for communal use, like roof gardens and playgrounds

For a 2-room Flexi BTO flat in Canberra Vista: tiny yet cosy spaces

a) A bright and airy interior that looks incredibly spacious

At just 38 sqm, a Type 1 2-room Flexi BTO flat in Canberra Vista isn’t exactly the biggest space around. Yet somehow, this 3D render by Great Oasis Interior Design looks incredibly spacious – and that’s all thanks to the clever combination of lighter colours, open space planning, and creative carpentry.

Choosing to keep the kitchen open, they’ve ensured that the home looks extra spacious. At the same time, the nifty idea of combining the TV console with a dining table acts as a divider between the living room and kitchen, while providing sufficient storage and a dining area.

To keep the space flexible, they’ve included a sliding bedroom door that allows the homeowner(s) to open and close up the space whenever they like.

The new 2-room Flexi BTO flat layout in Canberra Vista, which comes with a small nook

While the previous 2-room Flexi BTO flat layout was a standard one, there’s also a newer (Type 2) layout that Canberra Vista homeowners can expect. At 48 sqm, it’s 10sqm bigger than the previous layout, with an additional nook that can be used as an extra bedroom or a study.

The latter is precisely what Dan Avenue has created in their 3D render of this layout. Imagining this as a bachelor pad, they’ve decked out the space with a floating table and shelves, with adjacent storage and display areas for the homeowners’ things.

We also love the way the design is centered around the small window, which not only brings in natural light to this tiny area, but also encourages the homeowner to use it during visual and mental breaks.

While the living room and kitchen are largely swathed in soothing wood tones, the bedroom and bathroom detracts from this colour scheme, with green half-walls incorporating a hint of personality into the space.

Hosting guests in small homes isn’t easy. But somehow, Butler Interior manages to create different spaces for multiple groups of people – which is a feat, considering that this 3-room BTO flat in Canberra Vista is just 69 sqm.

At the kitchen entrance, you’ll find an island that also doubles up as a mini home bar. Note how the island is positioned in a way that allows the hosts to smoothly move from the kitchen to the dining area, facilitating good movement flow and ensuring that food can be served with ease.

Away from the communal spaces, the bedroom and bathroom are each designed to be a sanctuary to rejuvenate in after a long day. Both spaces are decked out in a darker, cosier colour scheme, with elements like the exposed brick wall and lighting creating visual interest while leaning into the overall rugged NYC loft-inspired look.

No matter your aesthetic preferences, you can’t deny that a white-and-wood home emanates a certain sense of warmth and comfort – which is why they’d make a great choice for the home of a young, growing family.

Rather than looking overly simple, Charlotte’s Carpentry keeps the space visually appealing by introducing various textures and panelling into the mix. Fluted panels, shaker style cabinets, limewash walls, and rattan-like laminates add depth while maintaining the overall relaxing vibe.

Additionally, you’ll also find ample storage space in the living room and kid’s bedroom, which gives the family room to neatly put away the toys and books their children use.

Playing around with the layout is a type of freedom only experienced by couples with no intentions of having children – and Flo Design has just the idea to show you.

Instead of setting aside open areas for children to play in, they’ve created multiple seating areas like a curved dining nook and an island, the latter of which includes high bar stools for a sophisticated design.

Additionally, Flo Design has also turned the suggested study into a home gym, which has ample room for an elliptical machine and space for exercise mats.

What we particularly like is the way how all these spaces within this massive, open-concept communal area are demarcated. By cladding the dining room ceiling and painting the structural beam a different colour, it effectively frames each space while providing visual structure.

3-gen BTO flats are a rarer unit type; with 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms, this 120 sqm home is certainly a dream for homeowners yearning for extra space.

However, only multi-generational families are eligible to purchase such homes. And one of the most important things to have in such homes: socialisation spaces where everyone can connect with one another easily.
