My husband and I shortlisted a few ID firms that we liked and met up with Ron and Aera from 5th Avenue Interior first. Our first meeting went very smoothly and within a day, we immediately agreed to engage them and stopped our search for an ID firm. Both of them were very accommodating to our needs in terms of budget and design. We had a specific mid century modern theme in mind to suit our vintage furniture collection, but did not know exactly how to execute the said theme. Ron and Aera not only proposed many ideas that we liked, but gave us tips and guided us on how to choose a specific idea to execute so that it will pair well with the furniture and mid century theme that we had in mind. Despite the lack of manpower after the Circuit Breaker, the renovation was still done in a timely manner. Overall, both of us were very satisfied with the work done.

No regrets choosing Chin from Fifth Avenue

Reviewed by Nirmala Ismail・Submitted 12 May 2021・Project completed Apr 2021・Designer Chin

Fifth Avenue was one of the 3 ID firms that we shortlisted based on their works that we saw on social media. When we went to Fifth Avenue to meet up with Chin, we somehow felt that we could click well. He was very attentive to detail. He listened to our needs right from the beginning. He included all the requirements that we wanted to have in our new home. After comparing with the other ID firms that we met, his quote was the most attractive as it met most of our criteria, including my customised pull-out tudung racks for my wardrobe! The price was no doubt expensive, but it's expected for a resale EA and we were willing to go over the budget for the professionalism, workmanship and design. Chin is very meticulous in his work. He is always very responsive to our queries throughout the whole reno process. Chin is efficient and quick-thinking. Most times, he's able to come up with clever ideas and solutions to problems that he faced in the reno process. Chin takes pride in his design and work. He's very frank and will be upfront to us if he feels that our choices don't go well with the proposed design. If anything crops up during the reno, he will immediately inform us and provide alternative solutions or suggestions before going ahead with any additional works that may incur extra costs. There was some delay in the process of getting approval for hacking of the walls in our unit and some non-working days due to the CNY period. But that did not deter him. He was able to schedule other works that can be done first so that the reno process still moves and not get stuck because of certain delays in other areas. The timeline we gave him was very tight, but he was able to deliver. We had to move in by a certain date and he ensured that by the time we move in, the house is in a livable condition. We did not mind that minor works were still going on for about 2 more weeks even though we already moved in. At least he made sure the major works were all completed before we moved in. All in all, the reno took about 6-8 weeks. Chin gets along well with children and we feel this is a plus point. He's able to play with and 'babysit' our 4 boys while we made decisions or choices on many things like laminate, toilet fittings etc. He planned many areas of our house with the children's safety in mind. Honestly, we had no particular design or theme in mind. We left the design entirely to Chin, compared to our previous reno where we made most of the decision in terms of space planning and design. We showed him a few photos of design ideas that we were interested in. As mentioned before, he takes pride in his work, and it shows in the outcome of our home. We love how our home feels so cozy and warm, and how my kitchen looks like a cafe! Overall, we are extremely satisfied with Chin's design and workmanship. We love his professionalism and efficiency. Highly recommended. In fact we have recommended him to many friends already.

Steph is the best!

We had many miscellaneous alterations and additions which no other ID would respond to us about. Not only did Stephanie enthusiastically lead our project, she was constantly contactable, an absolute pleasure to work with and extremely fast at solving every bump along the way. Her personal service and attention to every request we had along the way gave us peace of mind. Since we chose to live-in during our renovations, she was available to problem solve for us even late into the night. She went above and beyond to meet our timeline while maintaining the quality and budget. We would choose her again and again, with no hesitations.
