This is our first time engaging an ID. Hearing a lot of negative feedbacks about the ID industry in the past thus we took caution with our selection of ID. After a long search, we finally decided to go with Murphy as our designer. He was really passionate about his work and have never rejected our request to meet even after in the late hours to discuss about our requirements. Most importantly, he gave us the assurance and have always managed our expectations according to our budget. He has great patience despite our requests on the smallest details. He handled the renovation process professionally and made sure all the renovation works were done according to what was promised accurately. The flat was handed back to us even before the deadline and his service after handing over was really commendable. He never failed to respond to our queries even after the official handling back of the flat to us and has been following up with us consistently. Murphy is someone I would recommend to my friends or anyone looking to revamp their place!

After meeting up with 2 ID firms, Butler Interior was the 3rd and last firm that we actually look for and engaged with for this wonderful journey. Met up with Solomon & Kim Wee, and honestly we didn't have any design in mind but we wanted simplicity. We let Solomon work his magic around the floor plan as we conversed. Design and color theme was out and we love it. During that period, we are living quite a distance away from our new home and its a hassle to send our 1yo son to and fro from his pre-school which we applied for near our new house. Both Solomon & Kim Wee understand the situation and execute the planning of the project for our renovation seamlessly with perfection. During the process there were some key points which were strongly highlighted out and recommended to us before executing. Would like to give a thumbs up to how professional Kim Wee was as his follow up was just out of this world. There were still hiccups along the way during the renovation due to structure, but time was not wasted, issues were solved in a blink of an eye. The whole package was just masterpiece, being from design to color selection to tiles selection to project planning to scheduling to following up to delivery of materials and executing each and every aspect of the work was at the finest we could ever wished for. We are really grateful that we don't have to worry that much during the renovation progress, the workmanship quality and services provided was just top-notch. And now my family and i are enjoying the house everyday after we moved in. Once again, we would like to thank Solomon & Kim Wee for such an amazing work over this period of renovation. No Disappointments, No Regrets.

Background story: I am a new first time house owner with zero experience on how to go on starting my renovation journey on a resale flat that is 14 years old. Before meeting Solomon and Vicki at the Qanvast Hangout event, I have met up with 7 other Interior Designers all from different companies with different pricing ranges. Throughout the 7 meetups and their respective follow ups, slowly I realised that what I am looking for is an ID that really understands what I am looking for and to look at things in my perspective and the 7 IDs that I have been talking to even though have a lot of experience they were really "sticking to the template" and selling me on ideas that is very overly used or really just fitting their own agenda. Upon the first hour of meeting up with Solomon and Vicki at the event we have talked a lot based on the floor plan and my ideas/theme for the different room and even before completing the sentence they would already know what I want and what ideas I had in mind and even gave better suggestion to enhance the overall functionality and aesthetics, in short a lot of things just "clicked" and I know that they would understand what I really need and communications would not be a issue throughout the renovation journey and within the event itself I have decided to go ahead place a deposit with them. Then comes the tile selection part where I mentioned the thoughtfulness the both of them have, as we were choosing from a wide range of tiles available they have pointed out on the pros and cons of each individual tiles selection and have taken into consideration both their own experience and my requirements for the house to derive at the actual tiles. Note: As my requirement of the house is to have dogs at home, they thought about their entire journey from puppyhood to Adulthood and finally been a elderly dog which would have made sense to get an tile that is not as slippery to prevent injury to the dogs which I have not thought of at first. When the 3D mockup came up, it was just perfect to what I thought a dream house would be, there was very little to no changes required and the changes that was done is all little changes that is not gonna affect the overall aesthetic design of the house. Note: As perfectionist as they are, Solomon and Vicki went through a few iterations themselves before sending the 1st draft to me. There comes the actual renovation, from the start of planning of aircon placement to hacking off walls to the carpentry installation and the final touching up of the paint before handover, I practically didn't need to do much, somehow with their thoughtfulness it really just ease up on my renovation process and I really just need to go in an confirm on their decisions made which has so far been 90% aligned with my expectation. Like I mentioned before, as the both of them are perfectionist, if there is a flaw in the carpentry work or wrong shade of countertop was given they were there to catch it and rectify before I even caught it, it was only when they mentioned what happen that I knew even such flaws even occured which saves alot of time. Note: As my previous house is old, I didn't had the expectation that the basin water tap could have hot water coming out from it and I did not ask for it but Solomon and Vicki pre-planned it in advance so that I could have warm water washing my face or hands through the basin similar to the hotels which was a really pleasant surprise that caught me off guard and something that I am really grateful for. Overall comes the handing over of the house and the constant reminder from them to say if there is any major issue to reach out to them through Whatsapp with that level of reaffirmation towards the end of the journey it really just proves the point that I know I have selected the right IDs. Note: You will know your house is really well done when your friends that come into your house are sourcing for ideas for their own renovation and loves the aesthetic that was done to the house and have been constant praising how great the whole house looks.

We contacted 6 ID companies in our quest to find our renovation partner. Out of these we found Daryl Lee from Butler Interior to be the most sincere, with a competitive quote and was easy to connect. Daryl gave us few design options for our kitchen even before we confirmed anything on paper. This showed us his resourcefulness and ability to think out of the box based on our specific requirements and design limitations. Daryl was very involved with the work on site and was always listening and incorporating all our needs as we progressed with the renovation. I have never experienced such personal touch where the ID himself got involved in cleaning up our place in the early hours of the morning before the handover. At the end of the renovation we were very happy with the design choices we made and for the outstanding work done by Butler Interior, any fixes after the renovations were followed up promptly by Daryl. We wish Daryl all the best and highly recommend his services to others. Peter and Betsy.
