Why was choosing Toke and Chen (and Qian) as our ID the best decision of our renovation journey? Was it because of: - Their quiet confidence in their capabilities and vision even since the first meeting? - Their boldness in pitching crazy ideas that we never would have thought of and challenging what we thought our house could be without ever being pushy? - Their keen sense of when to step in and be decisive for us and when to step back and give us space to consider our options? - Their transparency in listing cost prices and ID markup separately, so we knew exactly where our money was going? - Their excellent communication throughout the renovation process, even when the multiple waves of covid were disrupting things? - Their meticulous attention to detail and the high standards they hold themselves to? These helped, but what mattered most was their great sense of responsibility and integrity that allowed us to trust them fully with our home. These guys know what they are doing and will work their asses off for you, so treat them right. Thank you Toke, Chen, and Qian, it was such a joy working with all of you!
Thank you so much!!! :-)

the team of Toke, Julian and Devia is young, clearly passionate and as can be seen through their portfolios, certainly masterful in transforming houses to homes - beautiful and functional ones at that. however, the journey is as important as the output. despite already having a strong design identity and initial proposals at our second meeting (before confirmation), the team continued to probe through quite a long ideation process throughout the reno, with multiple rounds of discussion and deep diving, to really tease out and clarify what we, as homeowners, really wanted. in some ways, this keenness to really put out something that reflects the homeowners’ personalities, needs and wants and not just wanting a quick templated get it over and done with kind of reno felt comforting. Julian was also very hands-on to remediate issues along the way. beyond that, what really cemented (pun intended) our decision to go with Toke & Chen was the confidence in their design and eventual execution. still rem Toke telling us that we are free to take away their initial layout proposals (printed single sided in A3 no less) and mood board because they are that confident. and they delivered. anyways, proof is in the pudding. we hope you enjoy the photos of our lovely home as much as we love staying in it and creating beautiful memories. lastly, thank you, Toke, Julian and Devia for the wonderful co-creation journey. https://www.tokeandchen.com/ren-apartment

I remember the day when these two young men stepped into my office and pitched their design concept. What impressed me most was their sincerity towards design – something the other designers I spoke to lacked. There wasn’t any pretence or upselling; it was just good, honest conversations on how we can bring out the best in my home. And because my construction project involved many moving parts, there were some speed bumps along the way with some of my contractors, but Julian remained committed in helping me solve them, even though it wasn’t his fault and he didn’t have to. I am thankful for the work that Julian, Toke, and team put into my home, and I am happy to see how they have grown in the past few years. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
