Working with ID Eddie Tay from Fuse on the reno of my condo unit in Bt Timah has been a great experience. My place is about 80% complete. Right from the start, Eddie is approachable and patient. He understood my ideas and put it on paper designs through the use of cost-effective, good taste, quality materials and clever suggestions on lay-out, use of light, etc. He is very easy to talk to and patient. Throughout the works, he manages the project well, and everything was smooth according to schedule as far as covid slowdowns would permit. As far as I can see, the actual outcome is of high quality and I am very satisfied. Whenever we run into unexpected challenges, Eddie has been able to patiently and resourcefully find solutions to overcome them. Strongly recommended!!!

Overpriced And Low Quality

Reviewed by Connie Ng・Submitted 4 Oct 2021・Project completed Dec 2015・Designer Billy Chew

We had our reno in Oct 2015. Initially everything seems smooth sailing until delivery. There were a lot of problems that had to be resolved last minute and issues with quality and design. Carpentry - hinges are low quality and breaks easily, the design of the drop down cabinet doors was not thought through, the hinges could not support the weight of the door and it makes a horrible sound every time it’s opened. Spots and dents were on the drawer and cabinet doors and the finishing was not clean and poorly made. The edges of the laminates are not clean. The designer doesn’t quite comply with my requirements. Has excuses when I ask questions why what I want is not fulfilled Plumbing - fixtures not fixed properly for the shower taps. Causing water seepages and leaks into the walls causing water bloating/bubbling on the affected wall. Somehow we also cannot go to any other fixture supplier except the one the designer told us to go, even when we made requests. The toilet accessories were poorly installed and came off loose very easily and doesn’t sit straight. The after sales service from the appointed accessory company was also very poor. WC piping for 1st floor toilet was not done properly as it leaked badly. I had to get a separate contractor to uninstall the whole WC and redo the WC piping completely. Air con - piping was not done properly and not insulated properly causing condensation on the affected walls Toilet wall tiles - very poorly done. Tile chipped and breakage on the edges of the tiles and we got cut several times due to the sharp edges. Stair case railing - very poorly done and they had to redo once, even after it looks very cheaply made as I can see weld marks every where Toilet waterproofing- was not done properly in our 2nd floor toilets causing seepage through the 1st floor ceiling within 2-3years Floor tiles - grouting came off within a few years Dining table and breakfast counter additional design feature - very poorly constructed, the additional design elements (which I actually did not want them but designer insisted) came off loose from the dining table and the area connecting it to the floor is not cleaned up properly despite my complaints. All in all I feel duped even though we spent well over 120-150k in the reno. Post reno service is slow and almost unresponsive. Extremely regretful in engaging this company.

Over promised and Under delivered

Reviewed by Sofia・Submitted 20 Aug 2021・Project completed Dec 2017・Designer Thomas

We renovated our resale HDB flat in 2014. Our experience during that time with Thomas was a pleasant one. He was patient and took into consideration alot of our ideas and suggestions. He also recommended several shops/ companies where we could get the items we would need for our home. However, a few years down the road we started to realise alot of issues: 1. Crack was noticed in a kitchen tile and when we requested to replace, Thomas mentioned he will have to remove all the built in kitchen cabinets and he cannot be responsible for their damage. 2. Windows are poorly installed; water would leak in during heavy rain 3. We wanted to change the old toilet bowls and had purchased the entire set (toilet bowl and pan collar) however the new seal we bought was not used. And we only realised this 3 years down the road when our toilet started having a foul smell/ leaking and we replaced a new toilet bowl, did the new plumber informed us of this (where did the 2 pan collars we purchased go to??) Fuse concept simply told us warranty was up and they could not do anything. 4. We purchased lights from a lighting shop recommended by Thomas. My husband specifically ask for and paid for a single large LED strip for the ceiling light, but today, 7 years later, after our light spoilt and we had to open it to change did we realised they installed 2 small LED strips instead of 1 large one, which is cheaper, but very dangerous because it might lead to overheating. We were new home owners and did not know what to look out for. The initial service might be good, but please do make checks during the Reno works to ensure that you are really getting what you paid for!
